Long time readers will know that Nogi showed instant dislike for Karlaia because of her demonic heritage. (Teiflings are humans/ demon race created to be a new master race.  Their empire fell and the few surviving Teiflings were scartered across the world.)

Karlaia and Nogi have been on bad terms ever since. This is the first indication that they may have patched things up.  However if you knew Karlaia's sister (and you don't because she hasn't been introduced yet), you would realize this isn't a good thing.
