They just got out of the swamp and already they are attacked by bandits. Likely the bandits were waiting for a merchant caravan to exit the swamp so they could steal all the silk. If they thought that three women would be easy pickings, they will soon be proven wrong - assuming the girls are able to take them down before they can close with their weapons. Dresses don't make very effective armor.
