A few pages ago, Arlina was hit in the face with a orb of fire.  She responds with a curse and her own attack.  Note that in D&D 4ED, a Warlock's Curse causes the target to take extra damage from any attacks the Warlock makes against that target.

Vampiric Embrace is a Warlock Encounter power that causes a lot of psychic damage to the target and heals a small amount of the Warlocks Hit Points.
