Nogi seems a bit annoyed that the Kobold had damaged her armor.  The scalemail was custom sewn into the dress, so it will not be easy to repair.

Taddin is using a hanging guard in the first panel in order to protect Nogi while she recovers.  This would be a full defensive move that makes you harder to hit but prevents you from attacking as well.

In case you missed the title of this page, the attack in the last three panels is a Radiant Smite, a Paladin's Encounter power that causes your weapon to glow with a holy light and do more damage then normal.  It's particularly effective against demons and the undead, but it works on Kobolds as well.
